Re: Atlas's suggestion - thanks - I've narrowed it down to the sync port which is virtual and is not available as a muting option in Clockworks. I did a hard reset and re-configured my midi setup in AudioMidi as well. Using the Sysex input filter in logic prevents the messages from being recorded. I have tried everything in Clockworks including muting Sysex, changing sync settings as well as making sure that Logic is not setup for midi time code. I would like to figure out what that box with the P and A is on the sysex list - I can't find any reference to that either. This is also interesting and may be applicable: I plan to do a hard reset as I have the configuration files backed up, but I just may start all over anyway in order to try to clear this up. I have not tried it form the Clicks & Ports layer though. When I get into the studio later today I'll set up the midi monitors - I had set up a couple directly from the synths already to make sure midi was going to them when the sequence was playing but I was not hearing anything, and in fact, the monitors were showing the normal midi stream for each instrument. Apparently they developed technology that got picked up by MOTU so there may be some legacy code floating around inside the MTP. The funny part to me is that I actually had a Sourthworth Systems Jambox back in the day with my first midi sequencer which was called midi-paint, ran on a Mac Plus and was made by long defunct Sourthworth Systems. I also researched this around the net and found several queries from people with the same problem, but no answers. Input which normally feeds directly into Logic's main "Sequencer Input"). (Connecting an individual port to a monitor will divert its MIDI data directly to the monitor, and thus it will never reach the SUM output of the Phys. Cable the port of each MIDI device to a monitor and see if you can identify which device is actually generating the message. Without doing an exhaustive search for the cause, I'm going to suggest you check your MOTU's various settings, resetting it if you think that will do more good than harm, and see if the messages stop being generated.īut if you want to figure out exactly where they're coming from, go into the Clicks & Ports layer and create a whole bunch of MIDI Monitors (as many as you have MIDI devices listed on the Physical Input object). After doing some googly searches I ran across a few forum posts and articles where this ID was indicated as being used by the Unitor 8 interface, but I also ran across a few posts where it was associated with Clockworks and MOTU stuff. the value of $33 (decimal value 51) corresponds to a firm called S&S research (never heard of them before). Should be easier now that I know what MIDI devices you have in your rig. I'll have another look at the list of manufacturer's codes and see if I can find a match. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what that means as there is not a dedicated sync port on the device that is connected to anything and I'm not using MTC. When I run midi monitor it shows the data as coming out of the Sync Port of the MTP AV. I also put a USB hub between the computer and the MTP which some other online boards suggested would help.Īlso, any idea what the little black box with P and A in it on the right side of the window with the Sysex data is? It's interesting and I can't find any reference to it. Tomorrow I will try a hard re-set of the MTP - I did a software reset today thru Clockworks but that did not seem to help. I also re-seated the various cables, pulled a couple of cables that we no longer connected and took a JL Cooper MSB+ that had been hooked up from when I had more synths out of the setup - so cable-wise everything is pretty neat. I think this somehow ties into problem I've been having with notes not playing then all playing at once after a delay, but to be honest, having been using midi literally since it started, this is vexing, to say the least! When i activate the Sysex filter in Logic the extra data is not recorded. I've disconnected the ADAT and MMC points in Clockworks. I tried changing the sync setting in the interface various ways with no luck. The M1R and R8 have active sensing which this may be (although I keep the R8 powered off most of the time - when I try triggering it thru Logic I get an unacceptable delay but that's a different subject). I have a Kurzweil K2000, Korg M1R, Roland D550, Roland R8, Proteus2XR, Proteus2500 and the Wavestation EX.
